Float House Victoria is a 5-tank sensory deprivation and floatation centre located in downtown Victoria, BC where you can relax, restore, reboot and even feel the weightlessness of outer space!

The urban vibe spa has 5 rooms containing “pods”. The pods are 7′ x 4.5′, giving those with claustrophobia no fear at all. The pods are filled with body temperature salt water, which allows your body to float inside the pod. The result is not being able to feel left from right, up from down. The funky LED lighting and colours also fade as your 90 minute session nears an end, allowing you to go into a mediation.

This local business is so popular that people are starting to buy weekly and monthly packages.

  2. The Zone’s Band of the Month

November 4, 2016 by Tessa Bousfield

Dan Gunn is in San Fran just 4 days before the US election and is feeling a bit Canadian-home-sick. While checking out the Struts at the Fillmore he learned they’re originally from the UK and had to go to the US to get noticed. This got him thinking how great musicians have it in Victoria thanks to the Zone’s Band of the Month program that’s been running for 14 years.

Listen below as Dan Gunn and Dylan Willows dive into the history of the Zone’s Band of the Month and some of the bands that got their start with it.

The Zone’s Band of the Month Showcase is tonight at 7pm at Distrikt Nightclub. See live music from: Fallbrigade, The Wild Romantics, LABS, and Lovecoast. Tickets are $10. Click here for more info.
